Everything you need to know about dog caring…

Once you’ve decided to care for a puppy, you’ll need to prepare for his entrance into your home.
This will help to relieve any further stress caused by his new surroundings and give him the best possible start in his new life.
Here are some general guidelines to keep in mind.

Get ready for your new pet.

Make a decision on a name for your new puppy. This is one of the first lessons he would get.
Determine where your new puppy will sleep and make a comfortable bed for him out of a blanket or an old jumper. Many people set the bed in the kitchen since the floor is easy to clean and the space is draught-free.
Nevertheless, many puppies suffer from separation from their mother and littermates and better sleep with adults in their bedroom until they get older. They can be slowly moved onto the landing or downstairs if wanted.
Make sure you have everything that they need, including a feeding dish, a water bowl, newspaper, a couple of safe toys, appropriate grooming tools for the coat type, a leash, clothes, and name tag, and a supply of food he is used to.
Make sure that your home is safe. To avoid any avoidable accidents, ‘puppy proofing’ is a good idea. Remove anything you don’t want to be eaten, especially electrical flexes, and make sure your yard fencing and gates are secure.

The first important days of the puppy with you․

When picking up the puppy, it is recommended to travel with two persons so that someone may hold the puppy in the car.
If you bought a puppy from a breeder, make sure you obtain all of the necessary papers, including the registration forms, pedigree certificate, nutrition advice sheet, worming, and vaccination information, at the time of pickup.

If your puppy came from a Rehoming Centre, pay close attention to any advice given by the workers. If your puppy has previously been vaccinated, you should be given a certificate as well as information about any medical treatment he may have undergone. You should also acquire feeding material, basic training techniques, and guidance on future health care. Most Rehoming Centres would be delighted to provide further guidance and help if necessary.
