In the early hours of the morning, the 71-year-old man fell while out walking in Braithwaite How, near Keswick.․․
A black Labrador was rescued after running after another walker they had just passed, howling and “trying to persuade her to return.” Rescuers described the incident as “incredible.”
She then discovered a golden retriever laying next to the guy and summoned assistance for him.
Volunteers from the Keswick Mountain Rescue Team, as well as members of the North West Ambulance Service, took part in the event.
Amazingly, one of his dogs chased after a passing walker, barking to grab her attention and attempting to entice her to return, which she dutifully did. “She discovered the second dog laying beside the unconscious guy,” a representative for the rescue squad stated.
“She called 999 for help, and by the time the team came, the guy had recovered consciousness, and after being assessed by a team medic, he was able to walk down the hill to an ambulance that was waiting for him.
The individual was brought to a local hospital for additional examination. The passing walker, as well as the lovely dogs, were quite helpful.
