A dog in Argentina was saved by a canine pal from being washed away by river rapids.
A black Labrador chasing a stick is dragged backward by a strong river in a video recorded by Rafael Franciulli until his doggy companion rushes to his rescue.
Poc, the high-ground dog, successfully snatches the hapless Labrador by grasping the branch in its teeth and dragging him to safety.
In response to questions about why he didn’t rescue the dog himself, Franciulli posted another video showing the rapids the Lab was swept through emptying into a large calm pool of water.
Contrary to common perception, not all dogs know how to swim by completing a doggy paddle.
Experts advise avoiding excessive noise that may alarm dogs, using an encouraging voice, supporting their weight until they feel comfortable enough to paddle, gently bringing them into the water, and showing them how to properly exit the water.
