When the fawn reached the beach, it was only a matter of time until the fawn’s mother emerged on the grass. Having located the mother deer, Dorn brought Harley inside their neighboring home…
It seems that the doe waited until Dorn and Harley had left before walking away with her little child.
Somewhat strangely, something was going on the following morning as Dorn and his wife Patricia, 64, were enjoying their daily coffee…
“When Harley was rushing from one window to another, he became restless. The deer was bleating as I opened the front door, and we could hear it “This is what Dorn said on Facebook:
“Harley dashed through the tree line and came upon the fawn,” he wrote in his account. Eventually, the smaller one stopped bleating and started wiggling his tail. They sniffed each other’s noses and Harley walked quietly back into the home with me.
According to Dorn, who spoke to PEOPLE, the fawn calmed down after its short reunion with Harley, and by the end of the day, the youngster and its mother had vanished. It’s been many days since Dorn last saw the mother and fawn, who she believes was just a few days old.
According to the veteran Marine Corps pilot, Harley’s kind deeds are not out of the ordinary. He had a wonderful heart from the beginning, adds Dorn, who recalls meeting him as a puppy.
“When it comes to children and animals, he has always been like this. He adores each and every one of them.”
