Animal Shelter in Pennsylvania Reunites Lost Dog with Potential Adopter Who Was The Real Owner… Watch The Full Video…․․․

It was a heartwarming homecoming for a Pennsylvania lady who had been separated from her dog for two years.

One day, Aisha Nieves of Allentown Pennsylvania decided to check out the adoption website of the Lehigh County Humane Society (LCHS) in order to get a new puppy for her two boys…

As soon as she arrived at the shelter, she discovered that a pit bull-Rottweiler mix was offered for adoption.

It occurred to Nieves, “Wait, it can’t be him,” he said. It wasn’t until I noticed the slight scar above one eye, the scar from when he was trapped in a fence, that I realized it was Kovu.

At barely 7 weeks old, Nieves adopted Kovu, who the LCHS referred to as “Ash” on their adoption webpage. When he went missing in May of this year, she was still living with him. A few weeks later, the LCHS discovered him in poor condition.

LCHS director of development Deirdre Snyder informed the media source that “he needed to be treated for fleas, was lacking hair on his rear end, and had an irritation.”

“A special medical shampoo was used to wash him down with antibiotics. About four months later, he was adopted out to a family at our shelter.”

Because his adoptive parents were facing eviction, Kovu was returned to the shelter earlier this month. The moment Nieves saw a picture of Kovu on the internet, she quickly phoned the shelter to make sure she was the dog’s rightful owner.

In the Morning Call, Nieves indicated that the reunion will take place at the time “He was yelling, attempting to break free from the man who was holding him and go to my rescue…

Once he had me in his arms, he proceeded to kiss and hold me. In my arms, he snoozed peacefully. Yes, you’ll be heading home. My heart goes out to you. ‘I won’t ever again misplace you,’ I vow.”

If your dog has been away for some time and then suddenly recognizes you, don’t be surprised: Dogs have an acute sense of smell, which may be the initial factor in the recognition.

For military soldiers returning home after a lengthy absence, “there are numerous videos on the internet showing their dog recognizing them with a similar delight and enthusiasm that Kovu had for Aisha.”

With Nieves and her family at his side, Kovu is looking forward to celebrating his 7th birthday this year.
