Joshua Jadusingh died at his apartment in Adams, Massachusetts, on Wednesday afternoon. He was 27 years old. The fatality is being examined as a result of a traffic collision.
When the neighbor returned home, he contacted the police before grabbing his hunting crossbow and trying to rescue his buddy, according to Harrington, who spoke at a press conference on Thursday.
“The neighbor obtained a crossbow and began shooting at the dogs,” according to the D.A.’s office in a statement.․․
“The arrow hit one of the dogs, passed through a door, and struck the person who was being mauled as he attempted to barricade himself against the onslaught.”
In the words of Harrington, the bolt passed directly through the dog’s nape of the neck before striking the victim.
Police officers responded to the scene to detain the hostile dogs and “used their service firearms to subdue the animals,” according to the statement.․․
According to Harrington, one dog was shot and killed in the apartment, and the other was shot and killed when it raced down the street.
Inside the flat, officers discovered the victim, who had died as a result of a crossbow injury. In addition, a little girl was discovered in an adjacent room. She was not hurt in any way.
According to the district attorney’s office, a neighbor overheard Jadusingh asking for assistance and went over to his apartment to see how he was doing. He was not identified.
He arrived to discover Jadusingh being assaulted by two enormous male pit bulls, and he immediately intervened.
According to Harrington, a necropsy revealed that the police shot a total of five bullets into the dogs during the incident.
According to Harrington, the first indications are that the death was unintentional, and the neighbor is working with police in the investigation.
The woman went on to say that he lawfully possessed the crossbow and that it was licensed for hunting.
“The neighbor was responding in a really stressful position,” according to Harrington, and is “very disturbed” as a result.
She does not anticipate that her next-door neighbor will be charged with a crime.
According to Harrington’s office, one of the dogs belonged to the victim and the other belonged to his girlfriend.
According to authorities, both pit bulls had a history of aggressiveness.
