Dogs battling for their lives after being․․․

a passerby on Victoria Road came upon the two-year-old Jack Russell terrier abandoned and brought it to the animal shelter. Infected with parvovirus, the dog was transported to local veterinarians, who are attempting to save his life with their best efforts.․․

Those with knowledge are being urged to come forward by the RSPCA, which is investigating the incident.․․

Inspector Prisca Giddens of the RSPCA stated, “This sad Jack Russell was discovered on the side of the road and given into the veterinarians.”

“Unfortunately, testing has shown that he has the very infectious viral illness parvovirus, which has a high fatality rate in untreated dogs.․․

There is currently no certainty that this dog will survive, but the veterinarians are doing everything they can to assist.

“We’re seeking for information to find out how this unfortunate dog ended up in this condition since he was not microchipped or wearing a collar when he was discovered.․․

If you can no longer afford to care for your dog because of a change in your financial situation, there is no justification for abandoning it, particularly if it is visibly in need of immediate medical attention.․․
