It was in the spring of 2019 when Bob, a three-year-old Presa Canario cross, was spotted wandering the streets of New York City. More than 200 prospective owners have passed him over since then, resulting in his time at the RSPCA growing to 775 days in total…
Staff, volunteers, and behaviorists at the RSPCA’s Birmingham Animal Centre have made every effort to ensure that Bob is ready for a new home.․․
221 people have turned down the chance to adopt the dog so far, leaving him with no one to call his own.
Bob’s caretaker, Jake Cowing, stated, “We worked with Bob for a long time on behavior and helping him be ready for a new home.․․
We were unable to locate him a new home because of the lockdown, of course․․.
His temperament and personality make him an excellent candidate for adoption, and I hope we can find him a loving home.
There is a good chance Bob will require a particular place to live, Mr Cowing added.
That was not all: “Bob has found kennels really problematic,” he said.․․
While he may seem to be a rough guy, he’s really a very sensitive person.․․
Some well-intentioned but incorrect methods have been tried in the past to assist Bob walk on a lead, so we’ve had to start from zero.”
Nonetheless, as we got to know him, we learned that he is a total swell. He’s a joy to be around and is always up for a game of tag. As soon as he’s comfortable with you, he’ll be your best buddy and companion for life.”
The RSPCA certified that Bob was once again ready to go for walks after months of meticulous and rigorous positive reinforcement training.․․
As a stress reliever, Bob likes to have a tennis ball in his mouth at all times.
An adult-only residence would be ideal, since it would be Bob’s sole companion.
Spending time with his canine pals is what he craves most in life.
Bob has spent more than two-thirds of his life in kennels, and two years is a long, long time,” Mr Cowing said.
Even though we’ve done our best for him, we want to see him in a home of his own and with someone who can provide him with the life he deserves. ”
“He’s a survivor, a champion, and a friend to us all.” When he’s adopted by the right family, he’ll transform their lives forever. He’ll transform everyone who takes him on,” he says.․․
