Heartbreak when a beloved family dog is murdered by a ferocious swan attack at a local park…

Bruce, a hybrid between a Lhasa Apso and a Bichon Frise, went out for a walk on the 6th of June when he was attacked by a violent swan in a popular rural park near his home.

After seeing a swan brutally strike the pet dog on many occasions, the dog’s owner, his girlfriend, their two children, and other onlookers were obliged to stand by and watch the incident play out…

The swan’s wings struck Bruce three times after he entered the water at Rother Valley Country Park in Yorkshire after he had entered the water…

It was impossible to rescue the five-year-old dog, despite Mr Barber’s best attempts to avert the assault and revive him after it had occurred…

Nicole, who owns and operates Hairystyles, a pet grooming service in Warmsworth, Doncaster, posted information about the event on her Facebook page.

The assault was seen by Nicole, who is Mr Barber’s girlfriend, and she decided to write about it in an effort to raise awareness about how deadly swans can be during the breeding season.

“All dog owners, please have a look at this,” she urged. My partner’s dog was killed by a swan yesterday, and my partner was devastated.

This bird is a very nasty animal, and the poor dog had no chance against it — three swipes with its wings and he was gone.”

“I did not see any newborn cygnets in the vicinity, so we think it was guarding the other ducks that were around.” There was no warning, it simply swam right at him, and by the time my partner leaped in, it was too late to save his life. It just took a few seconds for the swan to dispatch the man…

“It was the most horrifying thing I had ever seen, and it is something I would never want on anybody.” Please consider twice before allowing your dog to swim in open water, and never put your confidence in a swan.”

Nicole is requesting that the park post signs advising pet owners about the dangers of allowing their animals to swim in the water…

“It all occurred so fast, and Russ did all he could to save Bruce’s life, and we tried everything we could to revive him, but it was hopeless.” she said.

Although there were no cygnets in sight, I was aware that swans have a natural urge to defend their young, despite the fact that many people are unaware of how strong they are…

As a result, I would want to see signs put up immediately informing people that swans might attack and that dogs should not be allowed near bodies of water. I would hate for anything like this to happen again.”
