So after learning the awful news that he didn’t have much time left to live, his owner made it a point to make him one last ice cream cone from the local ice cream truck. Ms. Katie Dixon, a mother of two from Staffordshire, expressed her desire to hear her son, who had just gone away, sing for ice cream one more time before he died…
It was just a few days before Thanksgiving when she received the tragic news that Marley was suffering from cancer, and she was forced to make the agonizing decision of whether or not she should put him to sleep in the coming weeks…
Eight years had passed since she’d last seen her devoted companion, who had done everything from sleeping on a friend’s sofa to aiding her through some difficult times.
According to Katie, Marley was born on the 24th of July in the year 2013. I didn’t want a puppy at first since I was living with two friends and sleeping on their sofa at the time. I later changed my mind.
I, on the other hand, went to see another friend, and her dogs had just given birth to puppies,” she said. Each and every one of the other pups came racing over to me at the same time, but Marley just sat up in his bed, yawned, and then rolled out of bed. He strolled up to me with a relaxed demeanor and sat down on the floor at my feet to rest. My realization that I needed him came at that very time.” It was clear to me straight immediately that I needed him…
The 27-year-old expressed gratitude to the ‘boxador’ for helping to alleviate some of her challenging conditions.
In her words, “Marley has been my strength at a time when I didn’t even realize I had any.” He is the most considerate present I’ve ever gotten, and I am grateful to him. He’s been by my side through all of my worst times, and he’s really grown into my closest friend as well.
“It may sound absurd, but I’ve told that pooch about some of the things I’d want to take to my last resting place with me. He’s one of the most dedicated guys you’ll ever meet, and he’ll do everything for you.” If he doesn’t come back, I’m going to be absolutely lost.”
A growth in Marley’s mouth was discovered by Katie last month, and he was taken to the veterinarian, who diagnosed him with an abscess and treated him as needed.
Although the eight-year-old dog was no longer feeling well after two weeks, the owner took him to the veterinarian, who discovered that the dog had a tumor.
He had therapy to remove a piece of the tumor, but it resurfaced 12 days later with a fury, prompting him to seek medical attention.
Further, Katie said, “He hasn’t been himself since Saturday, and has seemed to be extremely lethargic and hesitant to eat or drink anything.” As soon as I took him to the veterinarian, they informed me that the tumor had reappeared and that there was nothing more that could be done for him at this time.
“The tumor is growing at a quick rate and seems to be taking its toll on the patient very soon. Due to the fact that he is in a lot of suffering and is chewing the hair off his tail, I’ll have to make a decision soon.”
In order to take advantage of one of Katie’s favorite aspects of Marley, who screams whenever the jingle of an ice cream truck drives by their home, Katie put out a call on Facebook, asking if anybody would be able to stop by and give him one more cone.
When Jeff Condliffe, an ice cream delivery driver from Staffordshire, was on his way to bring a special treat to Marley, he took the time to pull over…
In this heartfelt video, Marley, with his paws on his yard fence, lets out a wonderful howl when he hears the music playing on the vehicle in the background.
In the car, Marley puts his paws up on the counter to take an ice cream from Jeff, with Katie assisting him. Marley is a good dog…
While surrounded by his family and friends, the boxador relished not one, not two, but four ice-cream cones as tears streamed down his face.
“Thank you so much to Jeff for enabling me to hear that howl one more time, and thank you for making my puppy a very happy guy,” Katie conveyed her appreciation to the man who helped her. When Marl’s family and friends came to visit him, they were pleased with how things went for him. “I shall be grateful for the rest of my life.”
