As Mother’s Day approaches, all mothers, even dog moms, deserve a little extra love this week.
When it comes to Mother’s Day gifts for her 10-year-old rescue dog, Queen, and her 4-year-old pup, Freddy, Freddy wants a house of his own.
When their former owners couldn’t afford to keep them, a shelter took in the mother and son canine duo in August.
In a shelter, Queen and Freddy resided for eight months until they found a new place to call home. In Washington, DC, a non-profit called Homeward Trails has taken in the two pups and placed them up for adoption with a local foster family.
Now that Homeward Trails has decided to relocate, they must begin searching for a new home for the whole family. The non-profit feels the couple should stay together since they are continuously seeking for one another while they are apart.
Most of their time together is spent sleeping, relaxing, and bumping into one another. They’d never seen a dog act so maternal to an older youngster until they moved into their current foster home.
With the help of this story, Homeward Trails is hoping to locate the dogs in a new home in time for Mother’s Day.
Adopting Queen and Freddy from Homeward Trails may be done online.
