After previously pleading guilty to assaulting Emma Clay and inflicting serious bodily harm on her, Nikki O’Donoghue, also known as Nikki Grant, was sentenced to prison. Ms Clay was walking her seven pugs in Cricketers Park on August 11 when she came across Ms Grant, of Prince Alfred Road in Wavertree, who was engaged in a physical altercation with another male, according to the court record. Ms Grant, who lives on Prince Alfred Road, has been charged with assaulting Ms Clay, according to the police.
An eyewitness said that Ms Grant seemed to be arguing with the guy about his dog, which she claimed was growling at one of the several dogs she was walking at the time.
In an interview with the Liverpool ECHO, Ms Clay claims that when she attempted to intervene in the incident, Ms Grant reportedly accused her of “siding” with the male, an accusation that she feels is unfounded.
During the footage, it can be seen that Ms Grant is attempting to remove the phone from Ms Clay’s grasp.
According to the ECHO, Ms Clay voiced fear about the possibility of “having to leave her own home” as a result of the incident.
“I swear to you, it was a dreadful experience,” she said of the ordeal.
“This was quite stressful for me since I suffer from a lot of anxiety,” Ms Clay added.
“I’m concerned that I won’t be able to leave the house for fear of bumping into her again.”
As Ms Clay attempts to back away, she seems to get hit in the face by Ms Grant, who appears to be in the driving seat at this point.
Ms Grant then left the scene of the incident and did not return.
