When the dog started the horrifying and deadly attack, the baby girl was sleeping… See what happened to them…

An unknown breed of dog attacked Mia O’Connell, an infant of three months, in the early hours of Monday morning, according to police. The dog is believed to have been a terrier or another similar type. Several witnesses have said that the dog did not belong to the family and was just visiting them at the time of the occurrence.․․

According to the Irish Mirror, her parents, Ella Wood and Rhys O’Connell, had just announced their engagement to one another.

Rhys, 32, is thought to have been away from home at the time of the crime, according to police.

Locals in the Irish town of Clashmore have expressed their dissatisfaction with the current scenario.

According to Fr Milo Guiry, a parish priest in the area, the occurrence was a “terrible catastrophe.”

His words were followed by, “We will keep the family in our thoughts and prayers.” They will be provided with all of the help they need. “This is a very terrible piece of news.” It is “just so shocking and dreadful,” one local shared his surprise and anguish over the situation. My understanding is that they had only been in the region for a short period of time and that they were originally from Cork.

To lose a child in this way, in my view, is a terrible experience for any parent.

The words of another were, “I’m not authorized to talk about it.” The mere thought of that will give me nightmares since I have tiny children of my own.

According to Minister Simon Harris, “the whole heart of everyone goes out to that family.” Minister Simon Harris also conveyed his profound sympathies to the family. That terrible catastrophe that we have all been hearing about lately is really horrific.

“Saying anything further would be inappropriate other than to convey our sympathies and best wishes to the family that has been affected by what has been characterized as a horrifying and unfortunate event,” the statement said.

In the early hours of this morning, gardai were called to a property in Clashmore, County Waterford, where they discovered the body of a three-month-old female newborn who had been attacked by a dog. “Gardai are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her death,” a police spokesperson said.

As stated by the spokeswoman, “Gardai and paramedics cared for the infant on the scene until she was taken to Cork University Hospital.”
