After being recovered more than 70 miles from its home, a dog that had been missing for four months was reunited with its family…

Upon discovering that their beloved dog, who had been missing for four months, had been found and returned to them, the couple in Michigan felt they had seen a miracle.

Don and Kim Carpus were horrified when their Australian shepherd, Jinks, went missing while on a camping trip with them at Ocqueoc Falls State Forest Campground in July. Jinks was three years old at the time of his disappearance.

They went to considerable lengths during their three-week search for Jinks, even sleeping at a campground in Northern Michigan for three weeks in the hopes of tracking him down.

Even though she eventually moved back to her hometown of Milan, Michigan, she did not stop posting missing dog posters on Facebook and searching for her adorable pooch. They did everything they could think of to help their children, including radio commercials and pamphlets, but it was all in vain…

Jinks was located hiding behind the RV of a couple in Charlevoix, Michigan, more than 70 miles away from where he had been disoriented and gone missing. It was the first time anybody had seen him since he went missing more than a year earlier.

When his pastors, Randy and Susan Hitts, saw the tags on his collar, they immediately dialed the number on one of the tags. When Randy spoke to Petoskey News, he claimed, “the dog had probably walked hundreds of miles across the wilderness before coming up underneath my RV.” “He was quite lucky to still be alive,” says the author.

Jinks was on the watch for his parents in the same manner that they were on the lookout for him. It was a mutually beneficial relationship. Incredibly, our RV resembles the individuals who reside in it, says the author. It was Susan who pointed out that “it’s understandable why he would have believed it was the same one.”

According to what you would expect, Jinks’ family was ecstatic when they received the phone call notifying them that their kid had survived and was in good health. He seemed to be in perfect health, with the exception of the fact that he had lost weight and was covered in burrs on his back.

Jinks’ green color with ID tags managed to stay on throughout his voyage through the forest, resulting in a joyous reunion with his family and friends at the conclusion of it.

“He seems to be in good condition, but he is certainly in need of a groomer owing to burs and hair matting,” Susan said on Facebook after meeting his parents halfway through the journey. To my mind, this is a very impressive achievement. “Today, I had the honor of seeing a miracle!” says the witness…

Her post included a video of Jinks hugging his parents after months of being apart, and the video has now gained widespread attention throughout the world. “I missed those hugs,” his mother said after receiving a firm embrace from the adoring canine. She showed her thanks with tears in her eyes, adding, “I missed those embraces.”

He is thrilled to be back at home, where he can spend more time with his canine sister, Skye, who he has missed much. He was given a warm bath, and he has not been able to separate himself from his “baby.”

Contrary to all odds, this great story emphasizes that you should never give up on your dreams. Check out the video below to see for yourself how great the reunion was, and don’t forget to share it with your friends!
