In her capacity as patron of the Guide Dogs National Centre in Leamington Spa, the Countess of Wessex, 56, paid a visit to the facility. When Sophie visited the institution as part of the royal expedition, she came face to face with a number of labrador pups.
The Countess looked to be enjoying herself as she fussed over the adorable puppies in the center of the room.
Sophie seems to be surrounded by four little golden labradors in the charming photographs.
At one point in the film, an amusingly mischievous dog makes a beeline for the Countess’s hair, causing her to break out laughing.
Several photographs show the queen carefully attempting to get her hair out of the determined animal’s jaws as she smiles.
Similarly, Sophie smiles in another photograph as an overjoyed dog licks her nose.
In a touching image, the Countess also picked up a little black labrador for a cuddling session with her.
In addition, she saw a dog participating in a hydrotherapy session at the facility.
Sophie wore a long burgundy dress to the royal engagement, which she styled with her signature elegance.
When it came to her hair, the Countess wore it half up and half down and accessorized with a pair of dangly silver earrings.
When she got to the institution, she changed out of her long grey coat and into a white lab jacket.
Sophie took over as patron of the Guide Dogs for the Blind from the Queen’s cousin Princess Alexandra in July.
The nonprofit helps those who are blind or partially sighted to move about more freely.
The organization also funds research, promotes awareness, and organizes campaigns for those who are visually impaired.
Her passion for the subject has led her to serve as patron of Vision 2020: The Right to Sight as well as a worldwide ambassador for the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, among other positions.
Sophie previously said that her daughter, Lady Louise Windsor, had been diagnosed with a disorder known as strabismus, which encouraged her to promote the cause.
She said in 2015 that premature newborns may commonly have squints since the eyes are generally the last item that is really finalized when it comes to creating a baby package.
Despite the fact that she had a very prominent squint when she was younger, “she’s OK today and her vision is flawless,” says the doctor.
Sophie had a very full day on Thursday, which included attending an Armistice Day ceremony in Bedworth as well.
