Unlucky rescue dog is still looking for a home two years after being discovered guarding the body of his owner…

The owner of one of Britain’s unluckiest dogs, who was discovered resting next to his deceased master two years ago and was “still defending his corpse till the very end,” is looking for a new home.

Dillon the dog was found near his owner’s body, who had gone away – and is now in need of medical attention for himself.

The nine-year-old black lurcher canine enjoys walks, cuddling, and other forms of human interaction. A permanent home for him is required, and he is now residing in a National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) sanctuary in Cornwall, England.

According to Amy Hall, a fundraising and supporter relations officer for the National Animal Welfare Trust, Dillon is a genuinely caring and affectionate pet.

According to Hall, Dillon’s past includes being discovered laying with his deceased owner, who was clearly guarding him right up until he couldn’t longer – a situation that was “extremely tragic.” We’ve been trying to locate the appropriate house and family for him since he came to us approximately two years ago that circumstance, which is exactly what Dillon wanted and needed, but we haven’t been successful yet.

When it comes to finding a home, Dillon has had problems since he is still enthusiastic and “puppy-like” at heart, and he loves to run about and play when out on walks. The canine’s young exuberance has caused previous foster parents who were searching for a very quiet dog to be unable to cope with him…

When a dog reaches a certain age, it draws individuals who are searching for a companionship dog, but Dillon is still a puppy at heart, according to Hall, who spoke about Dillon. Although he will also relax and settle down with you, “He enjoys going out into the fields and taking a lovely stroll — after which he prefers to chill simply.”

Aside from that, Dillon has had difficulty finding an owner since he is not a good match for a family with children or other dogs because he is so devoted to his owners that he may become very “possessive.”

‘We actually sent him out to a foster home with other dogs a while back, and he got along perfectly well there, totally wonderful, but when they were all in the house together, he wasn’t too pleased because he enjoys having all of his owner to himself,’ Hall said.

As one NAWT employee put it, “He’s a little bit like Joey from Friends in that he doesn’t share.” “He’s more than willing to go out for walks with other dogs, and he’s more than fine with people bringing their kids or dogs around too.”

Despite this little placement problem, Hall said that the amount of interest in Dillon that NAWT has received in recent weeks has been overwhelming.

“He’s a pretty good dog, but he just needs the perfect person to take care of him.” The idea has piqued the imagination of a few individuals, but for one reason or another, it hasn’t exactly worked out,” Hall said. “Recently, though, the reception has been nothing short of phenomenal.”
