Following the release of a heartbreaking video showing a dog being abandoned in Stoke-on-Trent, England, individuals have shown interest in adopting the dog.

On Dec. 17, a guy walks his dog from his vehicle to the side of the road and drops a dog bed for him, according to a black-and-white CCTV footage released to PEOPLE by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). Meanwhile, another person is waiting in the automobile, and the guy returns to the vehicle.

Then the dog sprints up to the automobile climb up to the window and goes around the vehicle, sometimes wagging his tail along the way.

After briefly retreating to his dog bed, he leaps to his feet and returns to the room. Even as the automobile begins to pull away, the dog continues to circle the vehicle.

According to Sky News, the Staffordshire bull terrier who was rescued was given the moniker Snoop by his rescuers.

In an interview with PEOPLE, RSPCA regional media manager Rachel Butler says that Snoop is presently being cared for at private kennels.

“I’m pleased to report that he is doing really well and is receiving a great deal of affection and attention from the workers there.” Many people have fallen in love with him since he is such a kind and loving dog!

Although Snoop has had several adoption offers, Butler says the dog has found a home for the time being.

For the time being, Butler says, “he is not available for adoption since our inquiry into his abandonment is still underway.”

“However, we have had a large number of requests to rehome him, and we are certain that he will not have to wait long for a new house.”

A request for a response from PEOPLE was not immediately returned, despite Butler’s assertion that local police are not engaged in the RSPCA’s probe.

Andrew Neil, a reporter for the BBC, is one among the “hundreds of individuals” who have offered to take in Snoop.

“I’m quite disturbed by this footage. I have something to say to the RSPCA. If you’re having problems finding a home for this small puppy. “I’ll happily accept it,” he said on Twitter on Monday.

He said that his dogs were ready to accept a new companion. “Mr. Junior, Ms. Molly, and Iris Bailey have been preparing for the arrival of a new addition to the Bailey family,” he stated in his letter.

“They’re all getting together to celebrate Christmas Eve. “However, after this, I am unable to.”
