The action of the narrative took place in the state of Texas, as previously stated. A call was made from the animal protection center’s police department about a dog. After receiving many calls, neighbors determined that the animal had died and expressed concern that its carcass may attract wild creatures.
Nevertheless, the doggy was still alive, despite his extreme tiredness. Even vets were of the opinion that a dog that was starving to death would not be able to make it through. Only one person believed in it, and that person was instrumental in helping the dog battle for its life!
Concerned citizens called an animal rescue facility in Austin in the autumn of 2005, prompting the shelter to open its doors. They received a report of a dead dog lying in a metal cage that had been soiled by waste items.
When animal rights activists arrived to the location, they discovered the dog, who was extremely weary, soiled in his own excrement, and absolutely immobile. The dog, to everyone’s astonishment, was still alive and well after all this time.
The animal was taken to the veterinarian by the rescue crew right away.
“When we took its body temperature with a thermometer, we found it to be very low. In addition, she was unable to move at all,” one of the animal rights activists recalled. “I’ll confess that we were certain that the dog wouldn’t make it.”
Using a hair dryer, veterinarian Eliza Manser raised the animal’s body temperature for a lengthy period of time, causing the animal’s core body temperature to rise significantly.
“All of this time, I was conversing with my dog.” “It was very wet, it was freezing, and it was continually staring at me with begging eyes,” Eliza describes the situation.
“Everyone feared it wouldn’t make it, and the only one who kept assuring it that everything would be alright was me,” the veterinarian said of the animal’s survival.
Eliza adopted the puppy, named it Sophie, and brought it into her house once it started to recuperate.
“Sophie will never have to eat again and she will never be cold again!” Eliza expressed herself.
