On an empty lot, a little dog resided in an old, broken box, trying to keep out of the elements by hiding among pieces of shattered wood. Passersby took note of the infant and observed that it was unable to walk, but they assumed it was due to poor health.
In truth, it turned out to be much easier — the animal merely needed to be cleaned since the motion decreased the amount of wool that was bonded against the filth and resin during the drying process.
If I didn’t cry, it would have been hard to see what the baby was eating. Having been abandoned and deprived of regular food in the absence of loving individuals, the puppy started to feed on the bark of trees growing nearby and the box in which he was kept.
That was the case until kind individuals saw the crumb and took it to themselves. Rusik was the puppy’s given name, and for the first week, volunteers were tasked with cleaning it of filth, since even groomers, after a couple of failed efforts to keep the puppy’s hair in order, gave up.
After being entrusted to one of the volunteers to care for the puppy for a short period of time, the volunteer acknowledged that he had fallen in love with Rusik from the very first minute he saw him. Rusik turned out to be a very calm, nice, and clever dog.
Unless the puppy had health issues, it would not have created any difficulties — chewing wood had caused harm to the dog’s body, and it took a long time for physicians to determine the best therapy and food for the puppy to be found.
Over time, it seemed that the situation was improving, and the dog even got a new home in St. Petersburg. The new owners instantly treated Rusik as if he were a part of their family, nurturing and adoring him, showering him with kindness, care, and affection in an effort to make up for his harsh existence on the streets.
Unfortunately, Rusik’s history is not in a rush to let him move on to a new chapter in his life. Over time, it was discovered that the dog was unable to clear his intestines in the regular manner.
Rusik’s attempts to go to the bathroom became a true misery for him, and he became unable to do so.
The new family did not give up and had no intention of giving up a pet that had already become a part of their family.
Rusik was introduced to all of the city’s vets, and he also paid a visit to the most prestigious private veterinary clinic in St. Petersburg. A malformed pelvis was discovered in the Sotnikov veterinary clinic, and this was the location where the issue was first discovered.
It is likely that the puppy had been badly beaten even before being abandoned on the street, which resulted in the development of irreparable alterations during the creation of the pelvic bones.
The puppy’s new family is not giving up and is actively seeking alternatives as well as financial assistance for therapy since the puppy’s life may still have a positive outcome.
