Nothing beats a dog’s compassionate soul when it comes to caring for those in need.
An overprotective dog is dragging his own bed over to his ill brother in order to help him feel more relaxed.
Roman and Spanky have always had a special relationship. Despite everything, the two are inseparable. They play together and look after each other in the same way that brothers do. Spanky’s recent gesture, on the other hand, left the entire family speechless. And the emotional scene was captured on film.
“He was enamored with Roman from the day we brought Spanky home,” the dog’s mother, Jill Rogers of Hopatcong, North Jersey, told UNILAD. “He has such a strong attachment with him and does not like to be separated from him.”
But it wasn’t until Roman became ill a few weeks ago that Jill realized how important the bond between her puppies is. Jill took the eight-year-old dog to the clinic after his ear became infected. They discovered it was a hematoma and Roman was booked for surgery.
But, up until that point, the poor dog had endured a long period of agony and discomfort. But he was never alone because his brother was always nearby to console him.
“Spanky isn’t generally gentle,” Jill pointed out. “He’s as large as a moose, but when Roman wasn’t feeling well, he was very loving with him.” He didn’t try to roughhouse or play with him like he usually does.”
Jill decided to install a camera in the house to keep an eye on Roman while he was at work. But she had no idea she would witness such a wonderful scenario. The moment Spanky took his bed to his ill brother was captured on tape. Jill was moved to tears by an emotional scene.
“I watch Spanky pacing for a minute while gazing at Roman and then the bed and then I see him pulling the bed to Roman and as he’s dragging it he’s almost saying, ‘This is for you,’ and then the next film shows them hugging,” the woman explained to The Dodo. “I must have seen it a million times!” It was simply wholesome, and it warmed my heart.”
