Lewis Jimenez of Austin was having major financial problems one day.
Aside from these issues, the landlord prevented the man from keeping a dog in the apartment…
This was a huge blow for Lewis since pitbull Titus was more than just a pet to him; he was a true buddy.
The man was advised that if a dog remained in residence, Lewis would be evicted immediately.
Lewis contacted friends and family to temporarily house a pit bull, but everyone declined for various reasons.
The man was then obliged to take a desperate step. He had no choice but to take Titus to an animal shelter.
Lewis promised the shelter employees that he would return the pet as soon as he resolved his issues, but no one believed him.
“We hear such things virtually every day, but no one ever returns…” remarked the shelter’s personnel.
Lewis persisted and persuaded animal rights groups to postpone the pit bull’s hunt for new owners…
He adopted Titus as a puppy and always considered him his best friend.
Over the next six months, the man worked hard to solve his financial troubles. However, this did not stop him from seeing his pet on a regular basis.
So, four months later, Lewis arrived at the orphanage to take Titus home!
The man followed through on his commitment and returned for the dog.
“We had a very special day yesterday. Titus and his adoring owner set off for their new home. “As soon as Lewis’s concerns were handled, he promptly took the pet!”, said the shelter’s employees.
It was an emotional moment for everyone, especially Lewis, who couldn’t disguise his delight.
“Titus is a fantastic dog.” When I’m down, he always understands and tries to cheer me up! ” According to Lewis.
It’s been a long four months for Lewis and his cat, but it’s finally over! They’re back together…
