A 74 years old woman gets attacked by an alligator while trying to save her dog… The full video attached

When Suzan Marciano, 74, spotted an alligator approaching her Golden Retriever mix, she didn’t have time to ponder. They’d strolled through that Florida park hundreds of times without incident, but today was different. Marciano moved forward to push the alligator away from the 11-year-old dog Nalu but the alligator grabbed him.

It was the ultimate act of love and bravery, and Nalu is still alive today as a result. Marciano and Nalu are still recovering physically and mentally, but they are both relieved that they were able to survive the ordeal together.

Marciano and her two dogs have been going for walks at Boca Raton’s Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park for almost eight years. She maintains, however, that she has never seen any animals in the water, not even fish.

Nalu was off-leash that day, and she strolled near the shore. Marciano became aware of a form in the water that was obviously an alligator. The gator turned and snatched the dog in its jaws in a matter of seconds. Marciano did the only thing she could think of at the time.

“I just picked up my hands, stepped into the water, and landed on top of the alligator.” “He grabbed my hand, the alligator grabbed my hand, I just continued tugging, and he let go,” Marciano explained.

Marciano was in such shock at first that she didn’t know what to do. She wanted to go home and rest now that she and Nalu were safe from the alligator. On the other hand, her companion insisted that she go to the hospital immediately.

Marciano ended up with six stitches on her hand as a result of the alligator bite. Nalu had puncture wounds on her stomach and thigh, so she was in surgery for two hours. It was a harrowing, terrible experience, but they’re both recovering at home now. Despite everything, Marciano isn’t sorry she pounced on the alligator.

“If I hadn’t done what I did, I would have lost her, which would have been far worse for me,” Marciano said.

Conversely, Marciano insists that she and Nalu will continue to visit their favorite park. Instead, they’ll simply be extra cautious from now on. Marciano will make certain that Nalu never again gets that close to the water. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission found no alligators when they inspected the lake.

Alligator assaults have been on the upswing since 2018, according to the Tampa Bay Times. It’s most likely due to an increase in population and development in Florida. Even while gator encounters are becoming more prevalent, there is still a one in 3.1 million chance that one may occur…

To be safe, avoid walking your pets near lakes and ponds in Florida.
