Somebody abandoned a 15-year-old Australian Shepherd dog on the roadside in early 2021. The aging dog was quite heavy and covered in maggots. She had no idea why she was alone, but she had a tremendous want to survive.
Animal rescue organizations went to great lengths to treat her and find her a shelter. Despite the fact that many adoptive parents did not recognize her due to her age, one caring individual opted to assist her.
The once-ill canine is now settled in her new home. She’d never have to be alone again.
Someone spotted a dog named Belky wandering along a Michigan roadway. They contacted the Saginaw Police Department, which transported Belky to the Saginaw County Animal Care Center (SCACC).
The dog was taken to a vet hospital for a medical assessment by rescuers.
SCAC handed Belky to the Animal Welfare Society of Midland County after healing the dog of maggots and placing it on a diet. They looked after her till she could find her beloved family.
Belky slimmed down in preparation for adoption by losing a few kg. The BISSELL Pet Foundation launched an “Empty Shelters” adoption campaign, which matched the senior dog with her new parent.
Brianna saw Belky in a Facebook snapshot and fell in love with her right away. When she met Belky in person, she realized they were made for one another. Brianne acquired an elderly dog and provided her with a loving home.
“I understand that older dogs are more difficult to accept because everyone requires pups who will be with them for a long period of time.”
“It will be considerably more difficult for her to find a home due to her need for drugs,” Brianna explained. “I was so fortunate the next day when I got time to go to the shelter and she was still there,” she said.
