This puppy a always leaves a spot on the bed for his brother that died a year ago…

It’s never easy to lose a wonderful friend, especially when you don’t know why.

Harry, a nine-year-old Shih Tzu, has spent his entire life with his best friend George. As a result, when George died of kidney failure, Harry was devastated and upset.

Caitlin Wynne, 17, of Cheshire, England, adopted George when he was nearly a year old in 2004. After a few years, she added Harry to her family.

Caitlin stated that they were both Lhasa Apsos breeds who grew up together and did everything together, including playing, eating, and sleeping every night on a shared dog bed.

They established an instant bond and were inseparable: “We got Harry when George was 7 because it seemed like he needed a mate,” Wynne told The Dodo. “They got along great. Harry was always more lively and playful than George, yet they still played and slept next to each other.”

George and Harry always did everything together, whether it was playing, eating, or sleeping. “They used to share the bed, but when George got sick, Harry slept next to the bed to give him some space,” Wynne explained. “The night before we had George put to sleep, I slept on the sofa to keep him company, and Harry was pacing around the room screaming.” [He] wouldn’t sleep all night, as if he was aware of something amiss.”

Unfortunately, George was diagnosed with kidney failure last year, and Caitlin’s family was forced to make the heartbreaking decision to put him down at the age of 15. Harry refused to leave George’s side till he closed his eyes. It broke Wynne’s heart to see Harry struggle to care for his best buddy.

Even though George has been gone for almost a year, Harry still misses him terribly. He always leaves a spot in bed for George in the hopes that he will return. “He sleeps on the floor at the side of the bed very regularly now,” Wynne explained, “but I didn’t grasp why until I looked through images of them both from a year ago.”

Caitlin captured a tragic moment of Harry asleep and posted it on Twitter. “I’m sobbing uncontrollably rn… He always let George sleep there, and he died nearly a year ago and still lies there.” This only demonstrates that Harry’s affection for George will endure in perpetuity.

Wynne and her family are doing everything they can to console Harry. And we hope that, with the love and care of Wynne’s family, he can recover quickly and live a happy life.
