Monty, a 10-year-old Labradoodle, is nearing the end of his life, so his owner, Carlos Fresco, decided to take him for a trek in the Brecon Beacons, a mountain region in South Wales. Carlos and his wife hiked the range several times.
Monty enjoys exploring hills and walking in the countryside with his owner. Carlos decided to take him for a trip in the Brecon Beacons mountain range so that he may enjoy the final journey with his dogs one more time.
Fresco and Monty recently traveled up to the peak of Pen y Fan together, with the dog reaching the summit with the help of a wheelbarrow. Many folks were startled to see this duo on their way to the mountains and stopped to greet Monty.
Monty had been battling leukemia for the past 18 months. Monty was unable to fight the sickness and died on June 21. Chemotherapy did not completely cure him of the ailment.
“Although he was frail, he liked all the fuss and attention received by so many well-wishers,” Fresco added.
“People on the hills were both kinds and saddened by his declining condition.” Total strangers asked if they could help push Monty on his final journey – many total strangers shed a tear since we all love our tiny four-legged companions so much.”
