For the first time, the deaf boy was alone at home. He was ecstatic because he finally felt old enough to stay at home alone. He used hearing aids in both ears.
However, because the youngster was sleeping and did not have hearing aids, he did not hear the house smoke alarm.
The dog licked the deaf child’s face, and the boy awoke as the flames grew larger and larger.
The youngster and the dog fled the house swiftly because the entire structure was engulfed in smoke. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
