Painters make portraits of street dogs in order to help them find loving homes.
Finished works of art are displayed in supermarkets and other congested areas.
Natahnee Miller and Karen Spidle, two friends from the United States, attended a “Draw Your Pet” event.
During the event, attendees may draw pictures of their pets or dogs and cats from shelters on their own.
Natahnee noticed a 5-month-old puppy named Napster there.
His demeanor and modesty enchanted the woman.
Natahnee made a portrait of him and donated it to the shelter in the hopes that it would help him find a home.
However, the dog died of the condition after a few weeks.
Natahnee and Karen then collaborated to form Cheddar Paws Dog Art, a non-profit company.
The idea is to bring together artists, business owners, animal rights activists, and casual animal lovers in order to find the dogs a home.
They do this through the use of art.
Animal portrait artists in Pennsylvania produce paintings that Karen and Natahnee display at supermarkets and other public places.
As a result of this, 138 pets have found new homes.
“Today, our artists painted 197 canines, 138 of which have already found homes,” Karen Spidle revealed.
