A man finds a hungry dog on a secluded island and saves his life…

Wesley White, a photographer, was in Belize for business and was eager to explore the gorgeous island and capture images.

He was looking forward to a nice trip despite having very little free time on his hands. On the first day of the excursion, he opted to kayak to a little island off the coast of Thatch Caye. He spotted a malnourished dog wandering into a deserted fishing hut when he got on the island. The poor dog had nothing but skin and bones, but he was nice. “I saw his tail waving out of the corner of my eye,” Wesley told The Dodo.

Wesley shouted out for help, but no one was in the fishing area. He didn’t think the dog would have survived another day, and he needed to save the dog as soon as possible. As a result, he loaded the dog into the kayak and returned to the hotel. If he didn’t do something, the dog would starve to death.

He requested assistance as soon as he arrived at the hotel. Thankfully, everyone stepped in to help, feeding the dog and transporting him to the clinic. Wesley, sadly, only stayed with the dog for a short period because he had only 36 hours before leaving Belize.

The veterinarian kept in touch with Wesley and informed him that the puppy was recuperating and ready to be placed in a foster home. After two months in foster care, the dog might have flown to Dallas to rejoin Wesley.

Winston, the dog, has a new name and is now content in Wesley’s home with his owner and his pals.
