He was used as a bait dog and chained to a fence as the infection spread throughout his body.

Slapdash Deliverance of St. Louis responded to a complaint about a dog chained to a hedge in someone’s vicinity.

When rescuers arrived, they were astounded by the state of this canine, which had easily been used as a bait canine.

He’d had terrible mouthfuls all over his body, face, and legs, and his face was so blown that he could barely open his eyes. He’d gone septic since the infected wound had gone unclothed for several weeks. The unfortunate dog was chained up and left to die alone.

Saviors brought him to their clinic, where he spent months on an IV and was given antibiotics.

The nanny was summoned by the round clock to assist.

The dog, now known as Marco, proved to be a legionnaire. He made it, despite the long road to recovery!

Despite his ordeals, he still loves and trusts humans and looks to them for love.

He has since established a loving home with other dog siblings with whom he enjoys playing. His canine-fighting days are long gone, and while he’ll always bear the scars, his past certainly does not define him.

He currently spends his days coiled up on the couch with his new family, or dashing about with the other tykes in his large area.
