It is usually a good idea to recycle items that can no longer be used and would otherwise be discarded.
With this in mind, Amarildo Silva Filho, 23, of Brazil, began collecting abandoned and old tires that were no longer usable. He used his artistic and handicraft abilities to create something that would aid the scores of stray animals on the streets.
What was once trash has been transformed into something extremely beneficial to animals. When he discovered that dogs and cats enjoy sleeping in old tires, he decided to transform old tires into cozy and adorned dog and cat beds. He wants to give them a sense of home and make them feel more at ease.
Then he began collecting old tires he found on the streets and bringing them home. He painstakingly cuts, washes, paints, decorates and writes the name of the animal to whom the bed will belong after separating the tires.
Finally, he adds some carrying straps as well as a comfortable mattress that he sews himself for the animals to curl upon.
He has made 6,000 beds for strays, shelter animals, and even pets after successfully creating a bed. Amarildo’s animal beds have grown in popularity, and he now receives orders from eco-conscious pet owners all around the country.
