A friendly dog discovered a sickly and weak black bear cub and brought him home thinking it was a “puppy.”

It’s in a dog’s nature to explore its surroundings, discover new things, and even abandon creatures. They are so nice and friendly that they can befriend any creature they come across.

They occasionally bring the findings of their investigation home with them. This dog thought he’d found himself some good company.

A fascinating story just occurred in Washington County.

A family realized their dog had brought home a small creature, which he discovered in the woods close to their backyard.

Apparently, the dog mistook it for a puppy. The dog’s owners were taken aback when they discovered it was a black bear cub.

After a brief check of the young cub, they realized their dog had just saved his life.

The unfortunate bear cub appeared to be dehydrated, bewildered, and feeble. His weight was approximately 1.2lb.

It was unclear how long the youngster was left alone in the woods. Apparently, he became disoriented or was unable to move in order to find his family.

Richard Vaughan, the dog’s owner, searched the woods but couldn’t find his mother or his younger brothers.

He alerted the conservation officer about the situation because he didn’t know how to care for the sad young bear.

Soon after, the black, little cub was transferred to the Virginia Wildlife Center, where he was cared for.

The poor cub required not only sustenance but also minerals and vitamins. He was placed in a coma and placed in an incubator.

The Wildlife Center’s dedicated and caring employees offered the poor black bear infant a second chance at life.
The young cub healed within a few months thanks to the efforts of the entire crew.

Now he’s back in the wild, where he’s hoping to find a new mother.
