Bruno has walked 4 kilometers into town practically every day for the past 12 years, just to say hello to the locals.
Bruno, often known as The Wandering Dog, began visiting Longville, Minnesota when he was a child.
Larry LaVelle rescued him off the streets after a passer-by mistook him for Larry’s dog 12 years ago, and Larry chose to keep him.
Bruno, on the other hand, refused to be domesticated and preferred to go on adventures, despite Larry’s attempts to restrain him.
He had to get used to people calling him to claim they’d located his dog, only to tell them he was a ‘wanderer.’
He also had to get used to Larry simply telling the person on the other end of the call to let him go.
Bruno was unlike most dogs in that he was fully capable of traveling long excursions on his own. The people of Longville grew accustomed to seeing Bruno walking around.
His favorite places are the ice cream shop, city hall, the library, and various grocery stores and office buildings where he is greeted with meat scraps.
The inhabitants of the town adored him so much that he was named the town’s dog and a wooden statue was erected in his honor!
