Remy, a victim of a terrible superstition and a wanderer on the streets, just wanted someone to recognize him.
When Howl Of A Dog traveled to a tiny village in Romania to conduct a spay-neuter campaign, they met Remy, a street dog. That’s when they noticed Remy, or more accurately when he noticed them. He dashed over to them, wagging his tail to get their attention.
They instantly saw a mark on the puppy’s snout. The burn on his nose, according to Howl Of A Dog, is the result of a dreadful superstition — the belief that burning a dog’s snout with a red-hot iron will boost their immune and help heal distemper!
According to the rescuers, the majority of dogs in rural Romania are used as security or defensive “equipment.” Remy’s family ignored him and abandoned him for whatever reason, effectively turning him into a stray.
As a result, Remy wandered about the neighborhood, sleeping behind a little grocery store where the sympathetic shopkeeper fed him every day. Despite Remy’s kind disposition, the rescue was unable to find him an adoptive home in the hamlet.
Remy would run over to meet any dog who howled into the city. He appears to be waiting for them to notice him and take him home. “Every morning when we arrived in the village, he eagerly waggled his tail to greet us.” It’s tough to understand why he didn’t have a place to live.”
Instead of abandoning this adorable dog on the street, they chose to keep it. Remy has liked his temporary stay at their shelter, but he requires a permanent home.
