Nubby, a Pit Bull, was born without front legs.
Despite his strange appearance, his mother accepted him right away, but she couldn’t feed him since his siblings and sisters kept pushing him off the nipple, and he could only squeak pitifully, unable to compete for food.
Given this, the veterinarian advised the owner to euthanize the newborn to alleviate his suffering.
But Lou Robinson of Texas, who has spent her entire life, together with her husband Mark, rescuing stray and abandoned dogs, responded with a resounding no.
She was not afraid to take care of the odd dog and brought him home with her. She was forced to feed the infant from a bottle.
Lou and Mark took turns keeping watch to ensure that Nubby was never alone, even at night.
On the surface, everything appeared to be going well for him. The puppy has matured and gained some weight.
His eyes opened, and his ears grew. Nubby was able to smell, recognize voices, and even attempt to bark.
However, at the age of one month, the dog began sneezing. When the puppy started inflating from the nose and had excrement issues, he was immediately transported to the vet.
X-rays revealed esophageal issues.
Nubby was placed in the incubator after the veterinarian recommended antibiotics.
The puppy was deteriorating, but he battled for his life, just as his adoptive parents, Lou and Mark, had done for him.
And it was the dog who did it. After several trying weeks, he was finally allowed to return home.
Since then, three years had passed. Nubby grew up to be a cheerful and lively dog because he was surrounded by love.
Of course, many moves are difficult for him, but he is not frightened to tumble – after all, his owners’ loving hands are constantly close.
Lou and Mark also purchased a customized wheeled gadget for the dog that replaces his front legs — he uses it when he is extremely fatigued.
Many people admire the odd dog. The Robinsons have set up a Facebook page where they post images and videos of their pet’s life. And it has been followed by almost 60 thousand individuals!
Nubby is an inquisitive dog who enjoys running and playing in the yard with his owner.
He has a full and joyful existence, which was given to him by caring individuals who were not frightened of challenges.
