If you’re looking for a nice hug and happen to be strolling the streets of New York City, you might be in for a unique surprise.
Louboutina, often known as Loubie, is a 5-year-old golden retriever that has become popular all over the world for her hairy hugs. As she is now a budding sensation on social media, you may have seen images and videos of her warm embraces and firm handshakes.
Loubie is named after Christian Louboutin, a French fashion designer, which seems appropriate. Loubie is frequently seen standing erect on the streets of New York, eager to embrace everyone by wrapping her paws around their legs as they pass.
“She’s just a love bug,” Cesar Fernandez-Chaves, the proprietor of Louboutina, told TODAY. “She adores people and enjoys pleasing them.”
Chaves has been wearing Louboutins for roughly five years. Loubie was a friend’s puppy who had a thing for Christian Louboutin’s famed red-soled shoes, hence her name.
Surprisingly, she wasn’t always a big hugger. Loubie began standing on two legs about two and a half years ago and has since progressed to hugs, imitating her owner. The pause-and-stand became a habit, and Louboutina began to do it whenever they went for a stroll.
But Louboutina has created a name for herself with her embraces, and the couple is frequently approached and photographed by kind onlookers in their Chelsea community.
