It can be difficult to be away from our pets for extended periods of time. It can be even more challenging for our pets because they don’t know where we are or when we will return.
Cassandra Cabrera, an Army soldier, has had a difficult ten months while deployed in Africa.
Miss May, her favorite pup, was waiting for her at home, but Cabrera feared she wouldn’t recognize her because she was only a puppy when Cabrera left for deployment…
Her concerns were swiftly dispelled when she reconnected with Miss May at Sacramento International Airport in California. Miss May demonstrated in an instant that she had not forgotten her human.
Miss May stayed on a leash as Cabrera took the escalator down among the crowd.
Miss May ran for Cabrera as soon as she saw her coming down the stairs, smothering her with kisses and tail-wags. Miss May not only knew her human, but she also didn’t forget her for a moment.
Fortunately for us, their emotional reunion was captured on camera for all to witness. Cabrera will never forget this touching event. Hopefully, those 2 will never have to be apart for so long again!
