Henry, an 8-year-old Boston Terrier, has been responsible for saving the life of his parents’ 9-month-old daughter.
Kelly and Jeff Dowling of Glastonbury, Connecticut, reported that their dog was acting strangely one Monday night. This included bumping into their child’s nursery several times to wake the baby.
According to the Dowlings, Henry would continue to headbutt the door open and remain in the center of the room, which was unusual for the dog. When the owners shooed Henry out of the room, he barged right back in as soon as their backs were turned.
It turned out that the baby was suffering from a severe cold, and Henry had noticed that her symptoms were escalating.
“She wasn’t able to clear her airway. She began to turn bluish and stiff. “She truly couldn’t get any air, no oxygen,” Kelly Dowling told ABC 7.
The couple quickly took their baby girl to the hospital, where physicians were able to clear her airway and safely return her to her family that same night.
The 9-month-old is currently recovering from what doctors describe as severe cold. The Dowlings are grateful for their hero pup, Henry, and have decided to indulge him even more than before.
When he’s not rescuing lives, Henry likes to watch wolf documentaries, taste watermelon, and cuddle with his family.
