Animal shelters house thousands of dogs and cats.
Some of them are lucky enough to find a loving family soon, while others have been waiting for their new owners for a long time.
Although shelter personnel normally try their best to comfort their temporary pets, it is not uncommon for the conditions to be less than ideal.
It just so happened that one of the English dog shelters turned to kind-hearted folks for assistance.
Employees of the facility made the following announcement on their Facebook page:
“We ask any good-hearted persons who know how to use yarn and knitting needles to donate sweaters for dogs who are cold and lonely during the holidays.”
The announcement sparked interest, and 89-year-old Maisie Green was among those who responded.
The woman got right to work, and the shelter dogs were soon able to enjoy the fruits of her labor.
“I love knitting and I adore dogs, so this is the perfect marriage of my two loves!”
The enthusiastic lady remarked.
Macy began volunteering at the orphanage on a daily basis.
She gave the dogs about 450 blankets and a large number of sweaters over the period of three years. When asked about her job, the woman stated:
“I knit a blanket in three days and a dog jumper in one day.” It keeps me occupied, and I frequently knit while watching television. “I’m delighted I’m able to assist the shelter’s four-legged residents.”
Maisie’s assistance is much appreciated by the shelter workers.
After all, thanks to a generous woman’s generosity, dogs are no longer terrified of the arrival of cold weather.
Warm sweaters and blankets provide comfort and coziness to four-legged dogs.
