This child has had a cleft lip and palate since birth. Bentley Boyers, a two-year-old from Michigan, was born with the disease and has accepted it wholeheartedly. When his parents decided to take him to the local animal rescue center, they discovered a puppy in the same condition as him.
Bentley was instantly captivated by this puppy, Lacey, and thought they were created for each other.
Ashley, Bentley’s mother, stated that the link was created primarily because of the closeness of their facial issues. Bentley felt he and the puppy were soul mates. Their circumstances set them apart from the rest of us.
Ashley found out about the dog when Bentley’s father called her. She supported his choice to adopt the dog, and he quickly became a member of the family. She expresses how much it means to the family to see Bentley happy.
Cleft lips are a type of facial deformity that occurs during pregnancy.
Bentley underwent the operation and is now content with his unusual situation. His new puppy’s cleft lip has not been fixed, but the veterinarian believes that it will have no effect on her quality of life.
Although corrective surgery can reduce the number of problems that can arise as a result of having a cleft lip, it is still preferable to take additional precautions to avoid such complications. A cleft lip in an animal can be harmful, but animals are stronger than humans. This means that they will be able to cope with conditions that humans cannot.
This small boy and his dog are both wonderful!
