A security officer at a UK superstore became an overnight hero. All because a touching photo of him shielding a customer’s puppy from the pouring rain went viral on social media.
Ethan Dearman, a security guard at a Morrisons supermarket in Giffnock, Scotland, recently become an internet phenomenon after taking the kindest care of a puppy. The dog, a Golden Retriever, had been chained in front of the store by its owner, who had gone shopping. However, because a strong rainstorm had begun in the interim, the caring security guard decided to assist the furry little fella.
A local captured the sweet scene on camera and shared it on Twitter. The touching photo quickly went viral, with many people reacting to this man’s kind effort. “Shout out to this @Morrisons security guard for keeping this good boy dry,” Mel Gracie tweeted. “He answered, ‘Well, you never know how dogs react to rain.'”
Many people have commended Ethan’s action. “Some heroes wear high-visibility jackets,” one user said. Another person said, “Just gorgeous.. this man deserves a raise.” Morrison’s official Twitter account said, “Adorable!”
Even the hero couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw he was a YouTube sensation. “I didn’t expect to go viral on Twitter like this,” he replied in response to Mel’s post. “I knew I was making people smile, but this is a whole new level, lol.”
The man also explained the significance of the now-viral photo. “It wasn’t raining when he was tied there, and because I couldn’t relocate another person’s dog, I thought using an umbrella would be a decent compromise,” the guy wrote.
