Bobby Humphreys and his wife had three Rottweilers for the majority of their lives. As a result, he always thought of him as a “large dog guy,” and he laughed when his buddies walked their tiny dogs. He had never considered getting a little dog like a Chihuahua.
“I would genuinely make fun of any of my guy friends who dated someone who had a tiny dog.” I honestly had never given one a chance.”
Bobby’s life was turned upside down when his 17-year marriage ended. He was heartbroken, had terrible despair, and even considered suicide. His friend Connie, on the other hand, refused to leave his side and helped him get through this difficult time.
“My friend, Connie, had shown me what true friendship entailed. She was always there for me, no matter what. Needless to say, I owe her a great deal.” Bobby informed I Heart Dogs.
Connie once asked Bobby if he could look after her beloved Chihuahua Lady for a bit. He was hesitant because he had previously met Lady and she had appeared unpleasant. Not to mention that Humphreys used to mock men with small dogs like Lady. Nonetheless, Bobby chose to assist his friend since he felt obligated to Connie. His actions saved not only his life but also the lives of 30 Chihuahuas.
Lady responded as if Bobby had never seen her before when Bobby brought her home. To his amazement, the small Chihuahua got onto his lap, spent time with him, and they quickly became friends. When Connie arrived to check on Bobby and Lady, she was taken aback by the sight of them cuddling. Bobby developed a newfound fondness for small dogs after that.
Bobby wanted to get his own Chihuahua after Lady moved back in with Connie. He came across Kira, a one-year-old puppy who had been rescued from the appalling conditions in which her previous owners had kept her. Bobby actually rescued the dog and taught her how to love and trust people again.
Bobby began taking in an increasing number of Chihuahuas with difficult beginnings or unique needs. Eventually, he decided to launch his passion project, an animal rescue organization called Big Guy, Little World Sanctuary.
“We rescue Chihuahuas who have been abused, starved, crippled, or have mental disorders.” We either offer them a forever home with us where they will never be subjected to neglect or abuse again, or we nurse them back to health and adopt them out! “All we want to do is help as many babies as we can,” Bobby explained.
Bobby is a large guy with a huge heart! He is now in charge of saving lives and caring for over 30 Chihuahuas.
