When you wish to bring a dog into your home, you may believe that you must spend a lot of time talking to your father or spouse because they can be difficult to persuade of some things.
However, we must tell you that you must exercise caution because there is a chance that your beloved father and husband will adore them more than you do!
Despite her love for dogs, Rachael Rodrigues was unable to own one because her parents disliked them. As a result, she was overjoyed and a bit startled when her parents got her a puppy named Oliver as a graduation gift roughly seven years ago.
“Both my parents were quite anti-dog because we’d always had cats and they were hesitant with the extra effort (training, walking, grooming, and so on.) that comes with a dog,” Rodrigues told The Dodo.
Rodrigues and Oliver instantly became friends, and they are now inseparable. Rodrigues, on the other hand, is not the only one who adores Oliver. Her parents, particularly her strict dad, were also smitten by the puppy.
“Dad was smitten from the beginning,” Rodrigues explained. “He’d frequently wander around the home just carrying Oliver.” We thought Oliver had stomach pain and wouldn’t sleep through the night the very first week we had him, so Dad slept on the floor with him under a blanket and patted his stomach the rest of the night.”
The entire family knows how much he adores Oliver, but he despises admitting it. He treats and cares for Oliver as if he were a toddler. When Olive takes a nap, he wraps him with a blanket and tucks him in — it’s one of the prettiest and nicest images in the world.
“Because Oliver was sleeping on Dad’s pillow, Dad decided he’d cover him up as well,” Rodrigues explained.
Despite his claim that he never wanted a dog, he now adores Oliver and cannot live without him. Of course, Oliver adores him as well.
“The video is pretty much what Dad and Oliver’s relationship is like – Dad treats him like an utter baby (even though he won’t admit it), and Oliver laps it up,” Rodrigues explained.
