Although many people believe Rottweilers are an aggressive breed, they are actually gentle giants. More importantly, as this narrative demonstrates, they may be heroes as well. All after four Rottweilers rescued a befuddled senior lady who had become trapped on a school playing field for a few hours!
It was a bitterly cold January night when David Malt and his nephew Jack went for a stroll with his 4 dogs – Tillie, Billy, Gerrard, and May.
Because of his neighbors’ impressions of Rottweilers’ violent nature, David normally walks his adored dogs at night. So it was about 1 a.m. when they were walking near Cheltenham’s Bournside School.
The dogs ran in since the doors to the playing field were open, but they were greeted by something very unexpected. A shivering 80-year-old woman sat near some bushes. The elderly lady appeared befuddled as if she had no idea how she ended up there. But, happily, these brave dogs discovered her just in time.
The dog remained next to the woman and barked until their owner came. Then David summoned an ambulance, and the lady, who had been exposed to cold, was transferred to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
“There’s something over there,” Jack’s mother, Svetlana Martenovic, known as Lana, told Express. “It was the female dog that began licking her and wouldn’t leave her side till my son and his uncle came.”
If my son and brother-in-law hadn’t been walking their dogs at the time, the lady’s fate may have been quite different. “I doubt she would have lived.”
The 80-year-old lady had been sitting there for more than fifteen hours. Because it was winter break, the school was deserted, and no one spotted her. She didn’t make a noise when the dogs found her because she was terrified.
She eventually admitted to David and his nephew that she had gotten off the bus at the wrong point…
