The workers at Michigan Humane Society received an emergency call about a dumped dog laying on an unused couch in the rain during a severe downpour. However, by the time rescue driver, Chris Ouwerkerk got to the scene, the dog had vanished.
Chris eventually spotted the puppy curled up and shivering between two garbage cans after a long search. When Chris called out to her, she dashed out of her hiding place and leaped into the man’s arms. Chris prepared to drive back to the shelter, relieved with the speedy rescue. But he had to come to a halt when he detected a very loud “meow” coming from the garbage cans!
Chris returned to investigate behind the trash cans, only to discover a little, drenched kitten sheltering in the bushes behind the garbage can!
The rescuer discovered that the kitten and puppy were closest friends who had been attempting to keep each other warm. During the dreadful thunderstorm, the two babies had taken shelter behind the trash cans and had been each other’s sole source of comfort the entire time.
Camarin, the dog, was relieved to be rescued together with her kitten sibling, Tomas. At the shelter, the duo received hospital treatment and vaccinations, and they spent the next few weeks cuddling and recovering together. Camarin and Tomas have both been adopted and are now living happily ever after in their forever homes, according to the shelter…
