We are frequently astonished by the tenacity of a dog who wants to survive. A dog that shouldn’t be capable of standing isn’t just standing– he’s battling for his life.
To say the rescuers were taken aback when they saw him is an understatement. He walked around like a skeleton. Salvador was sick, famished, and wrapped in mats while he waited for a miracle. But… He was still hopeful. He still had a beating heart.
Rescuers placed food on the ground and allowed him to eat before rescuing him from the middle of the road and covering him in a blanket since he was too weak to touch. His bones were uncomfortably protruding.
Salvador was returned to the rescue center for a thorough examination and a tender bath. He was terribly underweight and anemic. Salvador had a long and difficult journey ahead of him, but the pup was already a warrior. His rescuers knew he’d fight till the end!
He was hungry all the time and began to gain weight. Despite his outward differences, his new friends welcomed him into the pack. They did, in fact, keep his spirits up. They showed him love and kindness. His new pals were resolved to stick by him and fight alongside him.
Salvador gradually began to heal. He grew in strength. He recognized now that food will be available every day. He wouldn’t have to be concerned about his next meal.
