Smoke, the Pit Bull puppy, comes from a terrible family, but she hides it well. Her previous human stabbed her at least seven times, damaging her trachea and carotid arteries. According to Molly Weinfurter of iheartdogs.com, Smoke would not have survived if it hadn’t been for Brad Chambers’ kind love.
Smoke is now one of the most contented and lovable dogs you’ll ever see. She has no traumatic background and has fully healed from all of her injuries. All of this, however, would not have been possible without the support of her new favorite human.
Smoke ran beneath Chambers’ vehicle in Virginia when she was a puppy. When he approached her, he discovered she was bleeding. The poor puppy was probably hiding from the person who had mistreated her. She had numerous stab wounds and didn’t appear to be going to survive.
Chambers, a former cop, fortunately, knew just what to do. He had a trauma kit in his van, thus he was able to save the puppy’s life. He then took her to a nearby animal hospital for further treatment. Her injuries were so severe that she had to be transported out of state for treatment at North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
“She has completely recovered from all operations, has a lot of energy, and her loyalty is unshakeable,” Chambers noted.
After all of her procedures, her medical bills totaled at least $15,000 USD. Chambers paid for some of it out of pocket, but the rest was raised through donations. Smoke had to become a member of his family at that point, he realized.
Smoke was adopted by Chambers because he believes he can offer her the loving home she requires. In his company, she had already come out of her shell and shown her actual personality. So Chamber is overjoyed at the prospect of spending the rest of his life with the cute Pit Bull.
“She’s one of the loveliest dogs I’ve ever met,” said Chambers. “This is a dog who needs to find a home where everybody can benefit from her affection, and yes, I adore dogs.”
Smoke is now learning to become a registered therapy dog since she is so kind. She can use her attractive and upbeat personality to assist those in need.
