Last summer, animal rescuers in Surrey, England, were called to an abandoned property where 4 spaniel puppies were abandoned in a container.
The newborns’ fur was virtually ripped off from insect bites, and their ears and eyes were afflicted by a chronic infection.
The puppies were malnourished and undeveloped for their age.
They were transferred to a shelter, where veterinarians began intensive care.
The poor puppies required four different types of eye drops and two different types of ear drops, which they received four times every day.
They had to struggle for the children’s health, but the physicians were able to get them back on track.
3 pups were taken away, but Badger didn’t do so well.
He was adopted by the family at first, but because he was too lively and restless, the spaniel had to be back.
Volunteers tried to engage Badger by hiding balls around the facility, but the dog constantly found them.
The vets came up with the idea after noticing his keen sense of smell, and they informed the police.
The police were ecstatic about such a beautiful dog, and after six months of training, Badger was certified as a professional sniffer.
Badger is now on the hunt for narcotics, weapons, and money. Steph Barrett, his partner, observed that the spaniel adores his work.
