Summer has arrived, and while it is much easier for humans to deal with the heat, we cannot say the same for our four-legged friends. While we can’t wait for a hot sunny day to find an excuse to spend the entire day at the pool, the heatwave could be a true nightmare for our dogs.
You don’t have to worry about that anymore, because a 5 star summer facility has just opened its doors, and guess what, it’s entirely for dogs!
Perros al Agua is a canine waterpark located just outside of Barcelona, Spain, and the only issue with this location is getting the pups out of the water. The puppy paradise is properly stocked with swimming pools, waterslides, beaches, and inflatables.
And, because many of its visitors were accompanied by their loved ones, the location also features a restaurant where you can order a really tasty hot-dog.
Federico Cano, the owner, said he was inspired to establish the venue after seeing footage of certain waterparks in the United States that allow dogs once a year at the end of the season. So he reasoned, why not develop a site where dogs could enjoy the summer season for the entire season, rather than just a day or two?
“I felt a permanent waterpark for dogs here in Spain would be a nice idea,” he told La Vanguardia. “I don’t understand why dogs shouldn’t be allowed to go swimming in the summer, just like people. I built it to seem like a beach, with a gentle slope that dogs love.”
With a mild temperature and sunny days most of the year, the facility proven to be a popular destination for dog owners not only in Spain, but also internationally. The park is an ideal area for a dog to cool off during the heat wave.
More than that, a quick trip to the park and you won’t need to walk your dog in the afternoon to ensure he’s getting enough rest. “Take the dog to the resort for an hour and I guarantee it will sleep for the next two days,” claimed the resort’s proprietor.
“People don’t realize how much dogs adore water, but they don’t often get the chance to enjoy swimming around.” So, if you’re going to Spain this summer, don’t forget to bring your pup and visit this dog paradise.
