A month after the Camp Fire, a woman who returned to inspect what was remained of her house was startled and happy to discover that her dog had survived.
Andrea Gaylord returned home to Paradise, California, where she said her beloved dog, Madison, was anxiously waiting for her.
Gaylord suspected Madison had survived the fire and contacted Shayla Sullivan, a pet rescue volunteer, who checked on their property.
Sullivan was originally seeking for and caring for Gaylord’s second dog, Miguel. Miguel and Madison are siblings. Sullivan said she maintained checking on Gaylord’s property and left Madison, an Anatolian shepherd mix, food, and supplies.
When the evacuations were removed, Gaylord returned home to inspect the damage. Madison was waiting for her when she arrived at the property.
The Camp Fire catastrophe killed 84 people and destroyed Paradise, a 150,000-person town in northern California.
Animals are so loyal and compassionate that they will remain faithful till their dying breath. I hope the family takes excellent care of this devoted and affectionate dog in the future.
