When Emmy’s parents asked her what she wanted for Christmas, her response surprised them. While most children her age desire a variety of gifts, this 11-year-old girl had no such wish. She informed her parents that she wishes to establish a nonprofit to assist homeless animals.
And when your child asks you a question like this, there is only one possible answer. So did Emmy’s parents. They made the decision to assist and support her. More than that, the girl’s diligent efforts to locate animals’ everlasting homes resulted in the biggest surprise of her life. Emmy thought she had simply found a home for one puppy, but she was greeted by a mob of individuals who had some exciting news for her.
Emmy’s Hope is a non-profit organization that helps rescued dogs find forever homes and a second chance at life. Emmy, with the assistance of her family, visits animal shelters and provides them with a wish list of things to help the needy animals.
“Our purpose is not to save dogs, but to save their lives.” “My hope is that students like me will realize the value of saving and adopting,” Emmy added. “I realize I can’t help everyone, but it matters to the people I do help and save.”
Emmy not only strives to provide resources for the animals, but she also spends as much time as she can showing them her love and caring.
She fell in love with Fox, a senior canine whose time at the shelter was coming to an end. So Emmy did everything she could to find him a forever home. So when she finds that Fox is being adopted, she can’t stop crying. But that wasn’t the only good news she got that day.
When she walked out of the shelter, she was hailed by a mob and told by rescue officials that “Fox isn’t the only dog getting adopted today.” In your honor, we hope to adopt all of the dogs here.”
